I have made a small and dirty video on how set up FlashDevelop to work with the flex3 sdk so you can create flex applications for free. This video is to get people in the right direction so when they come to the first meeting they should be able to use the ide to develop and test with. FlashDevelop has many other uses and I wil be going over as many as I can at our meeting.
Till then feel free to watch this video and get started today using flex and Air for free.

Can’t fast forward the video, nor turn up the volume. Is this intentional?
Sorry about that, like I had said it was a fast and dirty video.
I will fix that as soon as I can.

[...] have set my self up for Flex application development and thanks to this post about how to use Flash Develop and Flex, I was able to do so [...]
thanks for the video, that was really clear and useful
Nice post. Helped clear up a few things.
How to include a runtime shared library in compiler option
Hey Josh thanks a lot. Keep up the good work.!!
EXTREMELY helpful! Thanks for letting me in on the awesomeness that is FlashDevelop as I start down the Flex road. You’ve just made my life a lot easier.
Kudos!
Thanks. At first it didn’t work because I didn’t have any player associated with .swf . Installed the adobe standalone flash player and voila.
Thanks for the video.
(ps “/” is a forward slash
thx@lot! nice work to check the own steps.
Great thx for this video!
Thanks for the video. I didn’t realize it was that easy to use flash develop with flex. Been using Flashdevelop for AS3 with Flash CS4 and it’s been great, and had tried Flex Builder, but Eclipse sucks and is an unecessarily heavyweight and complex IDE. Nice to know I can use Flashdevelop instead.
Appreciate the video even if the “what have you” >10 times in that vid
Nice video ! it gives the idea.
nice poost, to start with.
Great video – works with the new Flex 4 SDK as well. Be sure to download the “Flash Player 10 Projector Content Debugger EXE” here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Otherwise you will get an error in your output pane such as:
“No application is associated with the specified file for this operation”
I can appreciate this quick start tutorial very much.
very good post, its really help. to start flex with flash develop.
excellent vid, quick and straight to the point. thanks.
